I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart;/ And I will glorify Your name forever. Psa. 86:12

Jehovah will reign forever,/ Your God, O Zion, forever and ever./ Hallelujah! Psa. 146:10

As we come to the end of the book of the Psalms, we see the consummation of God’s work of recovery. Eventually, the entire earth is recovered to Christ and everything that has breath will praise the Lord.

God first turns His people from being religious law keepers to crazy loving seekers. They are turned from religion and law, from everything else to Christ Himself. Then, Christ in them is the church, the house of God. They are further brought under God’s rule and reign in life and through life and are enlarged to become the city, the kingdom. It is through the city, the kingdom, through the church, through these loving seekers that God in Christ will turn the earth to the Lord. It is then, that the consummate praise will be offered to God. What is consummate praise? You may ask…well…It is the highest, fullest, total, universal, ultimate praise.

Though the earth has as of now, not been fully recovered, it is our service to God to offer to Him this consummate praise. However, it is not a matter of our being able to simply utter the words: “Praise the Lord.” If we simply say it as a habitual greeting, there may be no “for what,” no substance. For what do we praise the Lord? Our brother shared with us four levels of praise:

  1. The first, is we praise the Lord for what He gives. Saints, we must be saved from this thankless, entitled generation. We must praise the Lord for all of what He gives to us! From the air we breathe, the lungs with which we breathe, the water we drink, our bodies, our mind, our strength, our jobs, our food on the table, our car, the metro, the bus, I can’t continue because the list is endless, but for it all we must PRAISE THE LORD!
  2. The second, we praise the Lord for what He does. This is deeper, for we not only praise Him for the things He gives, but for His actions, His living and working out every situation in our lives.
  3. Third, we praise Him for what He is. Oh, saints, that we would realize and treasure all that the Lord Himself is. This is deeper, because whether He gives, doesn’t give, or takes away, He is the reality of everything to us. It is deeper, because whether He does or doesn’t do, He is our grace and all-sufficient supply.
  4. Fourth, the deepest and highest level of praise is when we praise Him not for what He gives, or does, or is, but very simply because He is. We praise Him as the self-existing and ever-existing One. Think about it like this, there is someone, who doesn’t necessarily give you anything, they don’t do anything for you, and it’s not so much that this person is so very awesome or worthwhile, but just their being alive, their having lived, their presence in your life now or at some point meant everything to you. We must get to this deepest level with the Lord, where the simple fact that He is, causes us to worship and praise.

How is that we reach this deepest level of praise?

In Hebrews 13:15 the author writes: “Through Him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of lips confessing His name.”

In second Samuel 24:24 David tells us that he refuses to offer to Jehovah burnt offerings that are of no cost to him.

The way we offer up a sacrifice of praise, costly offerings, to God is through the Christ we experience and enjoy in our daily life not only in calm waters, but even more on the stormy seas of human life. When we pass through reproach or suffering, when we walk through the valley of Baca and in this experience the unchanging Christ as our grace and in this way turn the valley of weeping into a spring, then we will have the substance in our being with which to utter: “Praise the Lord.”

In Revelation 14:3 we are told that the overcomers sing a song that no one could learn. This song cannot be learned because it is a song whose words and melody are produced as a result of these ones passing through their specific experiences.

Saints, have we experienced this? Have we passed through such experiences with the Lord?

Oh Lord!

I know for a fact that I have fallen so short. I don’t yet live a life of praise. But! If you are like me, be encouraged, for we can’t do it! Even if we were to determine to be such a person, it would never happen, but our Lord is this kind of person. As the writer in Hebrew says, through Him!! Through Him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise.

Oh Lord, how much we need You. We need You to touch us to cause us to turn our being to You. Lord, we confess we are so short. We confess we did not praise you so very much this last year; but Lord, this year, have mercy on us that we would be able to declare the words of the Psalmists:

O Jehovah, I will praise You forever. (30:12)

Every day I will bless You,/ And I will praise Your name forever and ever. (145:2)

I will bless Jehovah at all times;/ His praise will continually be in my mouth. (34:1)

I will praise Jehovah while I live;/ I will sing psalms to my God while I yet have being.(146:2)

Bring us, dear Lord into this reality so that through us You may recover the whole earth.

Let everything that has breath praise Jehovah. Hallelujah! Psa. 150:6

The Earth Recovered


The earth is Jehovah’s, and its fullness,/ The habitable land and those who dwell in it.~Psa. 24:1

Despite this fact, the practical reality is quite the opposite. Instead of belonging to the Lord, lawlessness, unrighteousness, and rebellion reign supreme. The task of reigning over the earth on God’s behalf was given to man, but shortly after being entrusted with this charge, man fell and continues to fall short of God’s glory.

Christ’s first coming solved all our personal problems before God. He took care of sin and sins through His death on the cross. Today we have access to the tree of life, we have access unto the Father, we have the right and the responsibility to fulfill God’s original intention.

Still, today, the earth with humanity has seven unsolvable problems:

  1. Ecological problems.
  2. Territorial problems.
  3. Racial problems.
  4. Political problems.
  5. Economical problems.
  6. Social justice problems.
  7. Criminal problems and problems with violence.

It is in Christ’s second coming that all man’s and the earth problems will be solved. The Lord Jesus has made a promise: “I shall return!”


Saints, what needs to happen for this to be fulfilled?  The church needs to be the reality of the kingdom today and through the church the kingdom needs to be ushered in. For this, Saints! We need to pray!

The Lord Jesus, the King, taught us to pray, saying, “Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on the earth” Matt. 6:10.

As those living under the heavenly ruling, we need to be those praying to cooperate with the Lord to bring His kingdom to the earth. This is our responsibility. It is with this that we have been entrusted. God’s original intention with Adam was that he would be His expression and representation. This is God’s ultimate goal, the recovery of the whole earth to be under the reign of Christ with the kingdom.

Lord Jesus. Dear Lord, gain what You are after. Lord, we desire that You would have what is on Your heart. Oh Lord Your house! Oh Lord, Your kingdom! Come to reign in us! And Lord we open to allow you full reign in us that through us You would reign over the entire earth. Recovered the earth, dear Lord! May Your word be established, that the earth is Yours and the fullness thereof. Lord, hasten the day when we can shout with rejoicing: “Jehovah reigns!” Oh, come Lord Jesus!

ps. Be encouraged saints, God works in three stages:

  • impossible
  • difficult
  • DONE.

Jehovah’s Commanded Blessing

There were fifteen steps leading up to Mt Zion. It was while ascending these fifteen steps that the children of Israel sang the songs of ascent. One step, one Psalm, all the way up to the top. From this beautiful picture we can see four things that need to become our experience as believers.

  1. Our experience is always a corporate experience.
  2. Our experience is an ascending, advancing experience; always going up, up, up.
  3. Our experience is an experience of love, desire, longing, and yearning for Zion. It is a love affair with God’s habitation.
  4. Our experience is a singing experience. (The Church life is a musical!)

Keeping in mind these four matters, we come to the last two songs of ascent, Psalm 133 and 134. In the first, we see a practical, visible  expression of what it is to live the Church life. In the second, we see the blessing, not just the blessing conferred upon Zion, but the blessing from Zion upon all the children of God.

As the saints are living together in oneness in the practical, day-to-day church life, there are two marvelous matters that become their practical experience. The first is the blessing of the all-inclusive, life-giving Spirit typified by the compound ointment running down upon Aaron’s head and flowing to the skirts of his garments. This Spirit is the anointing Spirit, the sealing Spirit, the pledging Spirit, the inscribing Spirit, the ministering Spirit, the liberating Spirit, the transforming Spirit, the renewing Spirit, and the fellowshipping Spirit. It is through and in and by this Spirit that we are one and are in the oneness. This compound Spirit is not for those who are individualistic; He is in and for the Body and for the priestly service that builds up the Body. The second thing is the dew of Hermon descending upon the mountains of Zion. This is the descending, refreshing, watering, and saturating grace of life, which is just the Triune God for our enjoyment. It is because of the all, super-abounding, multiplying, greater, sufficient, varied grace of God that is dispensed into us throughout the New Testament age that the consummates the New Jerusalem. When we see the Lord face to face we will be able to declare: “It was all because of grace.”

In the Church life we are daily anointed and graced; and it is through the anointing Spirit and the supply of grace that it is possible for us to live in oneness in the Church life. Eventually, we are perfected into one.

It is from this peak, from the overcomers upon Mt. Zion that the blessing proceeds to all of God’s people. This is Psalm 134.

Oh Lord. Have mercy on us, dear Lord, that we would be those living in the practical Church life all the days of our life until we reach the peak of Zion!

The Preciousness of Zion

Since the day God chose and decreed that His name would dwell in Jerusalem, this city, with Zion as its center, has been the heart and soul of God’s people. “Next year in Jerusalem,” are words that still today ring out in Jewish homes during the passover Seder. This desire was one that was never extinguished, no matter what circumstances the children of Israel were in. The fact is that Psalms 120-134, known also as the songs of ascent, were written with the captivity as the background. While Israel continued in dire straits, under the hand of the Babylonian empire, God’s people would yearly make an outward journey to come to the presence of God in Jerusalem and Zion. While they were making this journey, they would be singing these songs.

The children of Israel made this ascent to Zion, but the psalmists were some that not only made the ascent outwardly, but even more they were those who in Psalm 84 had the highways to Zion in their heart. They were on an inward journey to reach the peak of Zion, the house of God. The psalmists were on this inward journey because their being matched God’s heart.

The true and living God has desired Zion (Psa. 132: 13,14). This same desire and yearning was reproduced in the heart of the psalmists. Now we must ask ourselves, “Do I consider deeply what is the desire of God’s heart?” The psalmists were deeply concerned for Zion and Jerusalem. What are we deeply concerned about?

Saints, we need to pray to the Lord:

“Lord, cause the desire of Your heart to become the desire of my heart. Make my heart a duplication of Your heart in every possible way.”

If we become a people who are one with God’s heart’s desire, then we are not just on a journey to Zion, but we become Zion, the overcomers, the reality of the body of Christ. These three things: Zion, the overcomers, and the reality of the body of Christ are crucial for us to see.

Zion within Jerusalem typifies the overcomers in the church. Zion was the highlight of Jerusalem, the high peak, the center. It was the life, the blessing and the establishment of Jerusalem. In the New Testament, the overcomers are likened to Zion; in Revelation 14:1 the one hundred and forty-four thousand overcomers are not just in Jerusalem–they are on the peak of Zion.

What is an overcomer? The word comes from the greek word nikao meaning to conquer or be victorious. In Revelation where the Spirit makes His call to the overcomers in the churches we see it used not as a noun but as a participle phrase, meaning that an overcomer is someone who is actively conquering something. An overcomer is a person whose being is conquering. An overcomer is not a super believer, but one who is willing to carry out the responsibility which God has measured out to the church and at which it has failed. An overcomer is one willing to take on this responsibility on behalf of God and the Church. It is a mistake to consider ourselves or anyone else an overcomer with certainty at any juncture in our life. We cannot know, but we can aspire and pray to be one. We can pray that we would be those in whose being are the highways to Zion.

So, Zion is the high peak, the beauty, the unshakeableness, and solidity of Jerusalem. The overcomers are the reality of Zion, and these overcomers are for the building up of the body of Christ. No one who does not care for the building up of the body of Christ can be an overcomer. What the Lord needs today are those who are willing to be produced by the seven-fold intensified Spirit as stones for the building.

Saints, when the Lord looks into your being what is it all for? Your enjoyment, your labor, your dealings…is there a connection between all this and the building up of the body? Oh Lord Jesus! Lord! Grant us to be those who see the body, know the body and care for the body. Lord, make us those who would care for Your interests above everything else, even our necessity.

Today, the Lord’s recovery is to build up Zion for the carrying out of God’s economy, that is the preparation of the Bride and the destruction of His enemy. For this to happen, the building up of the body is the crux. The building up of the body, for the reaching of Zion, can only happen through prayer. What is genuine prayer?

  • Prayer is man breathing God, obtaining God, and being obtained by God; real prayer is an exhaling and inhaling before God, causing us and God to contact each other and to gain each other- 1 Thes. 5:17
  • Prayer is man cooperating and co-working with God, allowing God to express Himself and His desire from within him and through him and thus accomplish His purpose- Rom. 8:26-27; James 5:17; Eph. 1:16-23; 3:14-21.
  • The principle of prayer is that God’s heart and desire is transfused into His people making it their heart and desire. His people than pray for their desire to be accomplished, God then has a way to fulfill His heart, desire, and intention (Jn 15:7).

As we take a walk through the songs of ascent we see a person living this kind of life. The psalmist is one who loves Zion. The house and city of God are at the very center of these psalms.

Psalm 122 shows us the love for the house of God.

Psalm 125 speakes concerning Jehovah’s surrounding of His people.

Psalm 127 reveals Jehovah’s care for and blessing of His people.

Psalm 128 speaks of Jehovah’s blessing to Israel from Zion.

Psalm 131 speaks of the psalmist’s humbled heart and quieted soul.

Psalm 132 speaks concerning Jehovah’s habitation and rest in Zion through David (typifying Christ) His annointed.

For Jehovah has chosen Zion;/ He has desired it for His habitation. I will abundantly bless its provision;/ I will satisfy its poor with bread. And its priests I will clothe with salvation./ And its faithful ones will shout with a ringing shout. There I will cause a horn of David to shoot forth;/ I have prepared a lamp for My annointed one. I will clothe His enemies with shame,/ But on him his crown will shine (Psa. 132 14-18).

Here we see a picture of the top church life, the situation of the overcomers in Zion, the highest peak of God’s mountain. Here, these ones are living in the reality of the body. This is their being and they are Zion. Seemingly very ordinary, but in their inner being they are Zion.

Lord Jesus!

“Lord, make Your home deep down into all my heart. Lord, when it comes down to it, I am a crazy lover of Jesus. I abandon my being only for what is real. Lord, build Yourself into me. Lord, do this for the body, for your bride, for the kingdom of God. For Your eternal rest and satisfaction. Amen, dear Lord Jesus. Do it in me, do it in us, do it in the churches!”

God’s Law

The breastplate of the High Priest consisted of 12 stones with the names of the children of Israel. These contained 18 of the 22 Hebrew letters. Added to this was the “completer” or “perfecter,” also known as the Thummim. Whenever the Priest needed a word for God’s people, he would come forward into the Holy of Holies and step into the presence of God before the Ark of the Testimony and there he would receive God’s speaking, a fresh and living word that was for the whole of Israel. Psalm 119 is just this kind of message, one that proceeds from the High Priest’s entering into the Holy of Holies with God’s people on his heart, bearing them before Jehovah, reading them with the use of the Urim upon the breastplate, and bringing back to them a living message from God.

The message we see in Psalm 119 are the reality of the law, the two aspects of the law, the two aspects of the function of the law, and the two kinds of people in relation to the law.

First, Christ is the reality of the law. The ten commandments were also referred to as the ten “words” and as we know from John’s gospel Christ is the word of God. The ten commandments were also the very testimony of God. Again, Christ is the real testimony of God. God’s law is nothing other than Christ Himself. In John 6:63, the Lord, the Logos (gk constant word), says to His disciples, “The words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” The Spirit, the living, pneumatic word is the reality of the constant word which is the reality of the God’s law.

Secondly, here we see that the word has two aspects, if we care for the commandments in letters, the word becomes the killing letter. If instead we take the word as the breath of God we receive the aspect of the Life-Giving Spirit.

Third, the law functions in two aspects. On the one hand it exposes man’s sin and subdues us before God. It also becomes a child-conductor leading us to Christ. On the other hand, it also functions to:

  • minister the living God to God’s seekers
  • dispense God Himself as life and light
  • restore man’s soul and make his heart joyous
  • bring salvation
  • strengthen, comfort and nourish
  • uphold us, keep us, and cause us to hope
  • enjoy God as our portion
  • enjoy God’s countenance and the shining of His face
  • enjoy God as our hiding place and shield, enjoy His help and well-dealing
  • make us wise and give us understanding
  • give us proper discernment and knowledge
  • keep us from sinning and from every evil way
  • keeps us from stumbling, establishes our footsteps, and causes us to overcome iniquity

Whether our experience is positive or negative depends on the condition of our heart in receiving the law. Hence, we can see that there are two kinds of people in relation to the law. The letter keepers, illustrated by the Judaizers and Saul of Tarsus; and the loving seekers, illustrated by the psalmists and the apostle Paul.

What are we?

What is the condition of our heart before the Lord? Do we love God? Do we humble ourselves and regard His law as His living word through which we contact Him and abide in Him? Or do we separate the law from the living God as the source of life?

In Psalm 119 we see that the psalmist was not in anyway half-hearted. He was in every way a loving seeker. Too often however, when we come to the word we fail to receive any help. Too easily then, we become letter keepers. Our brother shared with us seven points that we need to take care of so that in our searching out the scriptures we are loving seekers and not letter keepers.

  1. We will not receive help if we have no exercise of the heart.
  2. Or if we have a divided heart, one that is loving many things. In verse 2 we see the Psalmist sought out the word with all his heart.
  3. We will receive no help if we have a lack of heart, if our heart is like dead wood.
  4. Any sin that we don’t or won’t confess, unforgiven offenses, lack of consecration, our not being subdued before the Lord, all of these are coverings, hinderances and frustrations that keep us from the Lord.
  5. On top of this, the bible demands that we humble ourselves when we come to the word. We must set aside our self confidence and self assurance. James 4:6 tells us that He gives grace to the humble.
  6. We must ask for mercy that we would not insist on anything.
  7. And finally, we need to open our entire being, body, soul and spirit including our eyes, mouth, and mind to love the word. We must exercise our will to take this way and we must pray to be strengthened in our spirit to receive blessing from the word.

Saints, it is such a privilege that we could be those loving seekers, prayerfully, diligently, whole-heartedly searching out the living God through His law.

Lord grant us a heart like the psalmist. Inspire us through this message to love You more and love Your word more.

The Cornerstone

In this universe God has only two works, the first, which was accomplished many millenia ago, is the work of creation. The second that He is actively carrying out today is of building. In God’s working, Christ is pivotal. For God’s work of creation Christ was the creator (Jn 1:3). For God’s building work, Christ is revealed in the scriptures as at least nine kinds of stones: He is the eternal rock (Isa. 26:4; Matt. 16:18), the foundation stone (Isa. 28:16; 1 Cor. 3:11), the living stone (1 Pet. 2:4), the cornerstone (Psa. 118:22; Isa. 28:16), the precious stone (Isa. 28:16; 1 Pet. 2:4, 6-7), the topstone (Zech. 4:7), the cleft rock (Exo. 17:6; 1 Cor. 10:4), the crushing stone (Dan. 2:34-35; Matt. 21:44), and the stone of stumbling (Isa. 8:14; Rom. 9:33).

In the Psalms we can see that we can experience Him in all the positive aspects as this stone for God’s building. As our refuge in 18:2, as the blessed stone in 18:46, as our protection in 31:2, as the higher stone in 61:2, as the unique stone in 61:6, as our strength in 61:7, as our habitation in 71:3, as the unfailing One in 73:26, as our salvation in 89:26 and 95:1, and as our trust in 94:22.

Psalm 118 reveals to us one particular kind of stone, the cornerstone. It is by Christ’s being the cornerstone that He could die for us, that we could be crucified with Him, made alive with Him, resurrected with Him, and seated with Him in the heavenlies, and that He could save us, transform us into precious stones, and build us together to be God’s habitation, God’s unique temple in the universe. When Peter preached the gospel on the day of Pentacost in Acts chapter 4, he preached Christ as this stone rejected by the builders and precious to God. Later in his first epistle, Peter again brings us to this living stone who in regenerating us has made us living stones for God’s building.

It is in Christ as the stone that we were saved and regenerated and are being transformed into God’s habitation. To His house, Christ is the cornerstone, the stone that joins together two peoples (Jewish and Gentile), two cultures, two ministries (Peter and Paul’s), and two economies, (God’s Old Testament Economy, and His New Testament economy).

Saints, may we, today, come to know Christ as the cornerstone of God’s building. May everything in us that does not fit into God’s building be crushed and become like chaff from the summer threshing floors. May what we are building be fitted together with Christ as the cornerstone. May God gain His building through our experience and application of Christ as the multifaceted stone as the building element of God’s building.

The Highest Revelation

In Matthew 22:42 the Lord asked the question of questions: “…What do you think concerning the Christ? Whose son is He?…”

Though this question was directed at the questioning, argumentative Jewish scribes, it is a question that we must all answer. Who is the Christ? What is He to us? What relationship do you have to Him?

Well, if we take a look at Psalm 110 we find the highest revelation of this Christ, He is the King, He is the Priest, He is the Warrior, He is the Victor, and He is the Drinker.

However, what I took away from our brother’s sharing regarding this Psalm wasn’t so much how it is revealed, or even what it is, but it was the fact that these verses are and can be experiential to us.

As the King, God has made Christ to sit at His right hand. Psalm 110:1 declares, “Jehovah declares to my Lord,/ Sit at My right hand/ Until I make Your enemies/ Your footstool.”

In Ezekiel 1:22, 26 we see the living creatures and a great sapphire throne, between them an expanse like crystal. This shows us that when we exercise to have nothing between the Lord and us by exercising to keep an open fellowship with the Lord and with the saints, by keeping our conscience pure before God and men, then the Lord is enthroned in our being. It is from this throne that the flow of life proceeds. This flow of life is the abundance of grace. When we receive the abundance of grace we are restricted in our being. It is then that we can touch the fourfold power of the Lord: the resurrecting power, the ascending power, the subjecting power and the heading up power. It is through this power that Christ’s enemies are made a footstool for His feet.

In Ezekiel 47:1 we see the flow in the house of God. The flow involves two sides, the east, that of the rising of the sun indicating God’s glory, and the south side, or right side of the house where was the altar signifing the highest position in the universe, the place of preeminence. God has given Christ the highest position, He is the King! What He requires now, as made evident by the altar in Ezekiel 47 verse 3 of Psalm 110, is our consecration.

Saints, we need to cooperate with Christ’s heavenly ministry in the day of His warfare by presenting ourselves as freewill offerings to the Lord in the splendor of consecration and by being His young men who are to Him like the dew from the womb of the dawn.

We need to cooperate with Him by treasuring our time with the Lord. Our spirit, soul, and body belong to the Lord. He has bought us with a price. He loved us to such an extent that He gave Himself for us, and we are His, but what about our time? The statute regarding the burnt offering was that it was never meant to go out, it had to be kept burning morning by morning. So, do you treasure your time with the Lord? Do you set aside all other things and enter into your private room to allow the Lord the ground and room to work in you?

Oh Lord Jesus! I must confess that I still fall so very short of this! But I have been encouraged to come back to the Lord, to reconsecrate to the Lord, not to try to change something of what I am or what I am used to doing, not even to make a new year’s resolution to be a more consecrated, cooperative person with the Lord, but simply to come back and like John Nelson Darby tell the Lord, “Lord, I still love You.”

Saints, we need to be those coming back to the Lord again and again, early in the morning to contact the Lord and enter into the womb of the dawn. When we enter in, something is conceived within us, the refreshing watering dew for Christ’s satisfaction. We become this dew and Christ in His coming back becomes the Drinker!

What a precious revelation, what a most high revelation. Christ enthroned in our being as the King of Kings flows within us to cause us to consecrate our being fully to Him. When we consecrate ourselves to Him by coming back to Him morning by morning, the dew is conceived within us for Christ’s watering and satisfaction.

Oh Lord Jesus! Be enthroned in our being! Gives us the experience of the awesome crystal expanse with the sapphire throne above it. Be the faithful one in us that would flow us into the experience of consecration that we, Oh Lord, would be those who can satisfy Your thirst in the day of Your warfare.

Eternal and Unchanging

Psalm 102 unveils Christ’s death and His eternal unchanging existence in His resurrection. Christ Himself is the resurrection and through His death and resurrection He produces the Church. Because the Church has come out of the resurrection life of Christ, the Church is an entity altogether in resurrection, it is resurrectionly, its very essence is resurrection.

Though these are only a few sentences, they are so packed with meaning, the depths of which are not so easy to search out. But the Lord is so very amazing, He, as the Lord Spirit has so many unique ways to work in each one of us, and because of this our brother asked one question at the beginning of this message:

Are you willing and ready to be touched by the Lord Spirit in your natural being?

Of course, our response, after the amen, might be to inquire, how would the Lord Spirit touch us? Our brother therefore gave us 17 points of possible application:

1. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit in our natural being to be helped to know Christ Himself as the resurrected One. (Phil. 3:10)

2. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit in our natural being to know the Church as an organic entity in the resurrection life of Christ.

3. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to be willing to experience the cross as in Song of Songs chapter 2. We would be led out of our introspection, out of our self examination and brought to the cleft of the rock to abide in the crucified Christ.

4. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to aspire to know the power of Christ’s resurrection.

5. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to advance in the divine romance. We would not continue in our juvenile, undeveloped love, stranded in the first chapter of Song of Songs, but we would advance deeply until we become the Shulamite.

6. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to participate in the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings and make up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ. Saints, if no one participates in this, the building up of the body will be delayed!

9. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to have the longing to experience the out-resurrection from the dead. We would experience the gradual resurrection of our entire being. As our days in our human life are declining we would be those whose inner being is thriving in resurrection.

10. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit that we would be those who by the God of resurrection, the God of all comfort we may comfort those in affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves have been comforted.

11. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit so that our prayer would be in resurrection. Our prayer would be the incense with the frankincense. Saints, natural prayer inhibits the release of the resurrection power. May we, in this coming year, endeavor to touch the hem of His garment. We would pray, “I must touch, Lord, the hem of the garment of the resurrected Christ!”

12. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to be a living testimony of the resurrected Christ, not preachers or teachers, but living testimonies.

13. We all, but even more some of the leading ones among us, would be touched by the Lord Spirit to be those with the budding rod in our God appointed ministry that would make us the representatives of the Lord.

14. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to be those trained to detect the attack of death upon the Church. Those trained to defeat it. Today this is the ultimate war: the gates of Hades and the resurrection life. Praise the Lord that Satan’s power ends at death, but the Church, the body of Christ is in resurrection.

15. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit that He would produce in us ministry in resurrection. We need some to be produced as beings in resurrection that the ministry would be continued in resurrection. This is not a matter of gift; if in the Lord’s recovery, we only have gifted brothers, we are finished.

16. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to be those who consecrate ourselves out of an aspiration to be useful to the Lord in His ministry.

17. We would be touched by the Lord Spirit to live in the reality of the body of Christ. There is only one lesson we need to learn: to be in resurrection for the body of Christ.

Saints, Christ is resurrection, He is in resurrection. Resurrection is the focus of the entire bible. From the land rising from the depths on the third day, to the city of resurrection life, the New Jesrusalem. Resurrection is God’s goal for YOU! Cease trying to stop Him.

Resurrection is total termination and the emergence in newness of life. That resurrected person, matter, or thing is beyond all manner of death, it is transcendent!

There is a crucial point that we all must come to see, that in this world, NOTHING LASTS. No experience lasts. No situation lasts. Nations do not last. Great empires, though seemingly invincible, didn’t last. No relationship lasts. Marriage, however sweet, desireable, and God-ordained is temporal and when death closes ones eyes it is over, but in the midst of the temporal something eternal happens and this is something altogether in resurrection.

I repeat, Christ is resurrection. The Church, produced through Christ’s death and resurrection, is therefore an entity absolutely in resurrection. The entire bible is focused on resurrection and resurrection is God’s goal for us.

Saints, will you take this way? Will you set your course to resurrection? Will you allow the Lord to show you that everything in the old creation needs to be terminated? Will you treasure more the new creation than the old? Will you open your being to the Lord and pray:

“Lord, I long to know this resurrection life. Lord, give me the experiences I need to know resurrection life.”

Oh, Lord Jesus. Amen dear, Lord. Do this in us.

The Highest and Fullest Experience of God

In Psalm 90:1 Moses wrote, “O Lord, You have been our dwelling place/ In all generations.” As one of the most faithful saints in the Old Testament whose writings are pivotal to the scriptures, and one who spent 40 days and 40 nights on the peak of the mountain in the presence of God it is no wonder that he alone was qualified to utter such a phrase as this for it is only in experiencing God as our habitation that we enter into the highest and fullest experience of God. This experience however, is not only for Moses, it is the experience reserved for every normal believer. It is for us, dear saints, to enter into this highest and fullest experience, the experience of having God as our habitation.

To have God has our habitation, our dwelling place implies that every aspect of our living is in God. Eating and drinking the Lord are marvelous experiences that we can enjoy but these are for our being mingled and absorbed by God until we become like little children, doing all our little, insignificant, daily activities with the Lord. Eventually, He becomes not just our hotel, but our dwelling place, our home.

Psalm 91 goes on to show us the way to enter into this highest and fullest revelation, how to enter into the experience of God as our dwelling place. Christ is the One spoken of in this Psalm as the One who took God as His habitation. Today, we are in Christ thus in our identification with Him His story becomes our history! Just as we have been crucified with Him (Gal. 2:20), resurrected with Him (Col. 3:1), and ascended with Him (Eph. 2:6) we can now also be identified with Him in His taking God as His dwelling because we have been grafted into Him (Rom 11:17). Grafting is such a beautiful picture of our relationship in Christ. We are not in Christ in the same way as say if we were to simply take a loose sheet of paper and stick it inside a book, where now this sheet of paper passes through all the experiences of the book. But it is like a branch cut off of a tree and grafted into another tree. This branch then receives a new life transfusion through the mingling of the sap of the tree to that of the branch. It is a union and mingling in life. It is not a matter of our imitating Christ and thus having a life in God as our habitation, it is a matter in and of and through life.

In order to apply the objective fact of our being identified to Christ and have it become our subjective reality we need to abide in Christ, taking Him as our everything. Specifically, we need to abide in Christ by eating Christ as the hidden manna. “While the church goes the way of the world, these overcomers come forward to abide in the presence of God in the Holy of Holies, where they enjoy the hidden Christ as a special portion for their daily supply” (Rev. 2:17 note 2).

As we are identified with Christ, and abide in Him to enjoy the mingling of the life of God we become the New Jerusalem, the ultimate universal incorporation of the processed and consummated Triune God with the regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, conformed, and glorified tripartite church.

Eventually, our entering into the highest and fullest experience of God will issue in our rejoicing in the great works of Jehovah, our horn of fighting being exalted over our spiritual enemies, our being mingled with fresh oil, and our being planted in His house and flourishing, bearing fruit even unto old age. All of these issues we see in Psalm 92.

Oh, Lord, have mercy on us that we would enter into this highest and fullest revelation. That we would be those who experience God as our habitation and dwelling place. Lord, keep us coming to You in our spirit day by day and moment by moment to eat You as our hidden manna that we may be absorbed into God to become this universal incorporation.
